Are you SPIRIT FILLED and SPIRIT LED? SO ARE WE!
Welcome to ZION MAXATAWNY’s website. We are currently in a time of transition as we say a fond farewell
to Pastor Butz (who has recently retired) and begin the call process for a new minister.
Here are a few things you might want to check out to see if YOU might be a good MATCH for US.
First of all, our congregation is at the core of who we are: welcoming, accepting and supportive. We are looking for a pastor with an open mind: able to working with our federated (ELCA/UCC) church of various age groups, worshiping in different ways. We see opportunities to serve and worship outside of Sunday morning like visiting with shut-ins, participating in social events, youth group and community activities, and hosting bible studies. We are looking to grow with a new pastor in faith and mission outreach.
Secondly, as we think about the attributes and leadership qualities of our next pastor, we are looking for somebody who is energetic, personable, and outgoing. Do you have a great knowledge of scripture and the talent to teach it? It’s important to us that sermons feel relatable and touch on the realities of everyday life in this current world. We look for creative and innovative ways to share the GOOD WORD. We are also looking for an effective communicator, someone who can balance being the leader and a great teammate. We have excellent cooperation among our committees and strong lay leadership already at Zion Maxatawny! We’re looking forward to engaging ALONG WITH YOU!
Finally, as we look to the future, here’s what we think is next for us. We want to utilize our beautiful updated facility to be a pillar for God’s work in the community as we outreach and evangelize. We’re super excited to continue to build our youth program, grow our Sunday School, and minister to both young families and those in different seasons of their life. Does GROWING IN FAITH within our walls and outside of them resonate with you?
If these qualities sound like WHO YOU ARE and WHAT YOU WANT TO DO, then we’d like to hear from you. We will welcome you, support you, and we are ready to learn from you so that we can continue to be energized by the Spirit, humbled by Christ’s grace, and work together for God’s glory. Peace be with you!
