The committee’s mission is to provide information, support groups and programs to assist senior members in maintaining the highest quality of life as God’s people and members of Zion’s community.  This committee has no funds.  The Church Board provides stamps for the Card Ministry.   Cards are donated for the use of the committee.    There are no terms.  The committee reports directly to the Church Board.  Committee Duties include: Card Ministry to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries of members over 70 years of age as well as get well messages; sponsors the Senior Fellowship Group which meets the 4th Monday monthly; sending Grief Ministry/Journey through Grief Booklets; celebrations of 90th birthdays; members of the congregation are visited, assisted with meals (as needed), and supported by this committee; “Senior Moments” and “Mystery Members” sections in the newsletters provided by the committee; packets of resources for seniors are available in the church office.
